As a therapist, my goal is to help guide and support individuals on their journey towards self-discovery and personal growth. I believe that psychotherapy can be a powerful tool in helping individuals overcome obstacles and regain a sense of wholeness and well-being. Through deep exploration of behaviors, feelings, and thoughts, we can work together to uncover the root causes of suffering and develop strategies for positive change.

My name is Dr. Carly Wielstein, Ph.D and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #117141, specializing in trauma. I graduated from California State University Fullerton with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre and pursued a career as a dancer/singer/actress for over a decade. I then attended The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where I graduated with a M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy. I hold a PhD. in Psychology, with a specialization in Trauma and Disaster Relief from National University; my area of research interest for my dissertation and ongoing studies is the phenomenon sibling violence.

I am an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University in the Graduate Department of Psychology and am also a guest lecturer at California State University Fullerton and California State University Sacramento. I am the Lead Certified Master Trainer and clinical supervisor for WisdomPath Way Institute, an institute specializing in reparative parenting and psychotherapy for trauma-informed children and families. Through WisdomPath Way I also work extensively as both a clinician and a consultant to mental heath and child welfare agencies to establish support and enhance resource families’ (foster families) in providing trauma-informed care and reparative parenting techniques.

Aside from working within the field of trauma, I treat issues including but not exclusive to: anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, phase of life hurdles, as well as families struggling with issues of compliance and behavioral difficulties.
